Research funding at the South Carolina College of Pharmacy has increased from less than $100,000 per year to $5,000,000 per year in six years. This level of research funding now places the SCCP in the top 20 colleges of pharmacy in the country. |

Faculty members in the Department of Clinical Pharmacy and Outcome Sciences are engaged in various areas of basic and translational scholarship which extend knowledge in and impact clinical therapeutics, professional practice, and pharmacy education. Our efforts in this area are often interdisciplinary in nature.
Research efforts in Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Sciences are focused in four areas: Chemical Biology/Medicinal Chemistry, Cancer Prevention and Treatment, Mitochondrial Biology, and Cell Death, Injury and Regeneration. Departmental research interfaces with research foci of the Medical University and University of South Carolina, including Structural Biology, Lipidomics, Neuroscience, Cardiovascular Pathophysiology, Oncology, and Nanobiotechnology.
